The R32 to the R34 Skyline GTR models and on paper as 276bhp this you will see with many models different car models of a few years from Japan.This was a restriction put on them by the power that be in Japan(until January 2005 where it was lifted.),although owners whom bought stock versions dyno there cars and got power figures of around 33bhp and this was still on a detuned engine,one thing that makes the skyline popular in real life is the tuning ability of the engines again back to the GTR this will see power figures of around 500bhp on stock internals and this is what the engine was actually made to do stock wise.Of course with mods these cars will far exceed that and being in figures over 1000bhp,again what makes them popular.
We have a Skyline GTS-T version in my town and he runs at around 650-700bhp,my R33 has a book 0-60 of 6 something yet i can get 5.2 results.
So to be fair the Skyline is a monster and a true Godzilla.its not the greatest car in the World but the tuning ability of the engines the handling and the looks and as cheap as they are they should be the best.
