Get fuel efficient with the new Proton Saga FLX!

PROTON is now giving you the option of getting more mileage for your Ringgit! PROTON has launched the Proton Saga FLX that uses Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT), commonly found in luxury cars.

Utilising an advance belt system that transforms torque to power, the Saga FLX gives you a smoother drive, removing the jerks of traditional autogear transmission systems. This “stepless” gear tansition improves drivability and responsiveness of the car, the smooth transition of the car between gears helping the car perform more efficiently, saving fuel.

Designed to give consumers better drive satisfaction and safety confidence, the Proton Saga FLX also comes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), along with driver and passenger side air-bags.

zero to 60 mph in under six seconds

2011 Ford Mustang GT

2011 Ford Mustang GT
Think you've got to spend big if you want a fast car? Think again.

Plenty of affordable cars will do zero to 60 mph in under six seconds; some are one-third the price of racers from Porsche or BMW.

The Ford Mustang GT, the Ford Mustang coupe and the rally-style Subaru Impreza WRX are just some of the thrifty speedsters that give luxury coupes a run for their money. Our list of the quickest under $30,000 has the others.

To compile this list we used zero-to-60 mph times for 2011 models tested by Edmunds' InsideLine.com. The 10 fastest that cost $30,000 or less made the cut.

It's no surprise that the cars with truly blistering zero-to-60 mph times, like the Aston Martin V12 Vantage and the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid—4.1 and 3.1 seconds, respectively—are much too expensive for this tally.

But one surprising and notable absence on our list is the much-adored Mazda Mx-5 Miata. While track nerds and weekend drivers love the little roadster, it just didn't have the pep to compete.

"The Miata is fun and handles well and will beat some of those cars on a racetrack, but it doesn't have the horsepower to accelerate from zero to 60 quickly, " says Dan Edmunds, the director of vehicle testing for Edmunds.com. "Handling and cornering speed are where the fun is for many, but acceleration is a different factor."

Another note: Our list includes only cars. Had we included pickup trucks, the $26,410 Toyota Tundra Tundra (zero to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds) would have qualified.

Subaru WRX vs. Mitsubishi Evo

Subaru Impreza WRX

MSRP (Base, est): $26,000
Engine: 2.5-liter turbocharged flat 4-cylinder
Horsepower: 224 bhp @ 5200 rpm
Torque: 226 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm
MPG (city/highway): 19/24

Performance - 16/20
Compared with the last WRX, the new car represents some tradeoffs. Power and weight are unchanged, but 0 to 60 mph comes later, now at 5.8 seconds instead of 5.3 with the standard five-speed manual (a four-speed automatic is optional). As a consolation, the new car has better midrange passing power and feels smoother doing it. For some, that will be enough to seal the deal; for others, a major turn-off. As before, the all-wheel drive setup delivers well-balanced handling and feedback through the new car’s standard 17-inch wheels.

Exterior design - 8/20This isn’t quite to the point of being embarrassed to be seen in, but suddenly we take back all the smack we said about previous Subaru’s sky-high wings and gold wheels. In reflection, nudging past the line of tastefulness was better than the slightly larger ‘08’s unappealing blandness.

Interior design - 7/10
Ignore the outside looks and the new WRX interior is a better place to be. Prior cars weren’t just no-nonsense, they were cheap inside. Backseat passengers had little room and a decent sound system meant big bucks. This time around, better quality materials and more room befit the price and dimensions.

Sound system/goodies - 7/10
Always home to a capable sound system (for a price), the WRX for 2008 now offers an 80-watt 4-speaker system standard. It includes an in-dash, single-CD player with auxiliary jack and speed-sensitive volume adjustment. You still have to cough up extra for the 100-watt, six-disc system (part of the $2,100 Premium Package), but the standard and available options are more in tune with the character and price range.

Bang for the buck - 15/20
A good value in this redesign, if not the steal of the century. It’s obvious Subaru has taken note of complaints surrounding standard equipment and appointments with the new WRX.

Driving experience - 17/20
If you can stand being seen in what some will mistake for a Nissan rental, the experience from the cockpit will probably make up for it. A tick slower off the line, the midrange is still formidable. Subaru also reminds us the engine is as easily tuned as ever, plus they feel the WRX will stand more distinctly from the upcoming STi.

Overall score - 70/100
Like a comic actor trying to appeal to a more grown-up audience, the WRX takes on a more serious role for 2008. The visual makeover is questionable and the laughs are a little more cerebral, but it’s still a crowd-pleaser.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

MSRP (Base, est): $32,000
Engine: 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder
Horsepower (est): 285 bhp
Torque (est): 265 ft-lbs
MPG (city/highway, est): 20/25

Performance - 17/20
If you thought the old car was hot, this car is outstanding. Mitsubishi has been generous with official photos for some time now, but we’re still waiting for the steak (testing, or at least official stats) to accompany that visual sizzle. Early suggestions at 300-plus horsepower may have been a little optimistic; our educated guess is a still-healthy 285, with 265 ft-lbs of torque, give or take on either figure. A couple highlights we can share are in the handling and transmission details. First, the new Evo will come with multi-mode Super All-Wheel Control. It combines active stability control, an active center differential, active yaw control and antilock brakes. If it sounds like the fun police have won, think again. This all works to deliver superior handling, we’re told, and even hedonistic drifting if so desired. Also, the Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission will come with odd and even gears on separate shafts and clutches, making for faster shifts with reduced power loss compared to a conventional automatic. If you insist on exercising your left foot, a five-speed manual can be had instead.

Exterior design - 18/20Had we conducted this test a year ago, the Subie would get higher marks and the Evo would be a cellar-dweller. What a difference a year makes. The new Evolution has more of a purposeful look than the last car, which appeared to have been tarted-up in a kid’s garage. This Evo wears a prominent, Eclipse-like snout and shades of Acura and Mazda can be seen in the rear flanks; though the latter doesn’t look too contrived or unappealing.

Interior design - 6/10
The last car was all business inside, a little drab and a bit too purposeful. The new car is still ready to rock, but it does allow a few concessions in the name of ergonomics and creature comfort, short of selling out.

Sound system/goodies - 6/10
A lot of Evo drivers instinctively rip out whatever audio deck came with their cars, but acceptable factory audio can probably be had in the new car without resorting to the aftermarket. We suspect the Evolution will come nicely equipped, based on the 2008 Lancer GTS’ 140-watt system and Bluetooth interface.

Bang for the buck - 15/20
The performance and trueness to character of the new Evolution build upon the last car’s traits. The price follows suit, too. Whereas the 2006 Evo had a base price of $29,149, we suspect the new car to chime in for at least $32,000. Getting a little heady, but the performance we’ve been promised should allow this to represent a solid value.

Driving experience - 18/20
The experience will make you wonder why some guys spend thousands more on performance cars that fall short of the Evo, especially now that it has better looks to back up the bigger bang.

Overall score - 80/100
Mitsubishi execs can finally exhale. The company ship seems to have been righted, the cars are the best they’ve been in recent years and the 2008 Evolution is definitely a highlight.

And the winner is…

Until very recently, comparisons of the Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Evolution have come down to matters of personal preference; the performance largely a draw and aesthetics subjective. Both cars are still decent overall but their courses no longer run parallel. The now conservatively-styled (and to us, homely) WRX will now court the more adult enthusiast. The redesigned (for the better) Evolution will still cater to those who resist settling down -- maybe wooing a few Subie drivers in the process.

2011 Mini Cooper Roadster

Design

Differentiated by its uncharacteristic swept windshield, A-pillars, low roofline and aggressive stance, the Mini Roadster is immediately recognized as a very unique Mini model. While those familiar with the current Mini lineup will instantly recognize the familiar styling below the beltline, the new Roadster features a small cloth convertible roof, ending dramatically in front of the rear trunk. Absent of the Cooper convertible’s two rear seats, the trunk is now larger as the safety roll bar has been moved forward on the chassis.

Model Lineup

The Mini Roadster joins the Cooper, Clubman, Convertible and new Coupe for the 2011 model year. One of a pair of 2-seat models in the expanded lineup, the Roadster is designed to offer a sporty top-down driving experience with a standard turbocharged engine under the hood.

Hardware

The 2011 Mini Roadster shares its mechanicals with the Mini Cooper S model. Under the bodywork is a turbocharged 1.6-liter powerplant. The 4-cylinder engine is fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger delivering 175 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. With its basis on the Cooper S, the Roadster is likely to remain front-wheel drive and equipped with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Like the Cooper S models, the Roadster’s underpinnings include a front MacPherson strut, rear multi-link suspension, with sport-tuned dampers fitted at both ends and likely available with John Cooper Works handling upgrades such as a front strut tower brace.

Safety

Both the driver and front passenger inside the Mini Roadster are protected by dual-stage deployment “smart” frontal and seat-mounted side air bags. The roll bar has been moved forward in the Roadster—and completely redesigned as a single aluminum bar spanning the entire width of the interior. In the event of a rollover, the bar is engineered to move up electromechanically in just 150 milliseconds to provide additional head protection. In its stowed position it is designed to remain low, preserving the driver’s unobstructed view out the rear of the Roadster.

Like other Mini models, dynamic stability control and traction control are standard features on the Roadster. In addition, all Roadsters are fitted with 4-wheel-disc brakes with ABS, cornering brake control, and electronic brake distribution to give the driver more control while slowing or stopping the Mini.

Technology

The Mini Roadster is fitted with a unique system of instruments designed to reinforce its “fun to drive” quotient. The “Always Open” function tells the driver how long he or she has been driving with the top down, a feature offered on the standard Mini convertible today. Features present on the Roadster concept but which may not see production are a “Nature Guard” function, telling the driver how efficiently they are driving, “Highspeed Shifter” display telling the driver how to utilize the engine for maximum power, and a “Gravity Indicator” presenting lateral g-forces and the direction of the acceleration. The “Heart Beat” setting visualizes the speed of the engine graphically (like a human heart beat): The faster the engine revs, the faster it beats. Lastly, the “Buddy Radar” shows the driver where other Mini drivers are currently out on the road (gender not included).

2010 Audi S4 vs. 2009 BMW 335i - Comparison Tests

All the sports-sedan action is below a $50,000 base price, we’re told by Audi’s marketers. Think of it as the Hugo Boss class of cars, where respected labels adorn quality goods that look swish but still fall within a stretch for wage earners. Go over 50 large and a psychological trigger trips. That’s the realm of the luxury seeker, a rare air where sporty drivers don’t dwell en masse. Even in normal times, go above $50,000 and the dealership traffic trickles.

Turbocharging usually means lag and lumpiness, but not here. BMW’s blown six streams its power in a silky, sateen torrent that cleaves through 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, a dead heat with the more powerful Audi. The six-speed slips into its gates like a runway model into a size 2, and the steering—oh, the steering: The forearm effort is light, but the response is immediate and the feedback no fainter than if your palms were dragging on the road.

You could drive this BMW for the entirety of a quiet commuting life and never be dissatisfied, even with the firm ride. No question, BMW crafts a smooth engine, but real power lives only in the higher registers, above 4000 rpm. Where the cocksure Audi blitzes hills in third and fourth, the BMW’s cooker demands frequent visits back to second to keep its sauce boiling.

Despite the 3’s superior skidpad performance, in harder real-world corners its Bridgestone run-flats lose their bite earlier, the razor-responsive steering dissolving into sideslip with an abrupt degeneration of control and at lower thresholds than in the Audi. At any pace exceeding 80 percent of insanity, our confidence likewise dissolved.

As we boogied over the asphalt strings that drape the mountains of Southern California, the BMW invariably fell behind. Whether you’re steering, braking, shifting, or flooring it, the 335i is always enticing you to push harder—but in the unflappable Audi, you in fact can.

The BMW’s brakes are excellent, but time stops for no one. The 335i was new in 2007 and got a mild styling jiggle for 2009. Competitors have improved, and some aspects of the 335i—its lofty price, the coldly impersonal cockpit with its meniscus-shaped dash and slightly old-fashioned displays—never pleased everyone. Polarized sunglasses are a no-go: From the driver’s seat, the audio and climate control’s LCD readout goes dark.

The wheelbase is two inches shorter than the Audi’s, so it does not come as a startling revelation that the BMW’s back seat is less accommodating and involves more of a struggle past doors and over sills to get back there. In both cars, the trunks are spacious.

Car maintenance

There are few things that need to take care which are basic of the car maintenance. Like my car, usually i will send my car for service for every 5000km. The service center will provide service for changing engine oil + oil filter and check condition of the car. Sometime, they will change the air filter also. Usually they will ask what kind of oil we want to use either mineral or semi or fully syntetic. http://www.fixcarnow.com/auto-repair-culver-city/oil-change-culver-city.php

The reson why we need to keep on time changing the engine oil is to let the life span of the engine become longer. The engine also can work smoothly and can go at top of its performance. If there anythings else found unusual from the inspection by the mechanics, they will inform us and give the best recommendation to solve the problem.http://www.fixcarnow.com/auto-repair-culver-city/

Thats why sometime, u see there's a car broke down on side of the road. The most problem is they dont follow the recommandation to maintain the car condition. A car is like human, need a proper take care to live happily. So, Please check your car before start to travel to any place near or far. Better u know the situation before u stuck with the problem.http://www.fixcarnow.com/auto-repair-culver-city/brakes-repair-culver-city.php
